PLEDGING OUR INHERITANCE

                                     READ EPHESIANS 1:9-14

Sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, in him; 11 in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his will; ejn wJ'/ kai; ejklhrwvqhmen proorisqevnteß kata; provqesin tou' ta; pavnta ejnergou'ntoß kata; th;n boulh;n tou' qelhvmatoß aujtou', 12 To the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ: eijß to; ei\nai hJma'ß eijß e~painon dovxhß aujtou' tou;ß prohlpikovtaß ejn tw'/ Xristw'/: 13 in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, -- in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, ejn wJ'/ kai; uJmei'ß ajkouvsanteß to;n lovgon th'ß ajlhqeivaß, to; eujaggevlion th'ß swthrivaß uJmw'n, ejn wJ'/ kai; pisteuvsanteß ejsfragivsqhte tw'/ pneuvmati th'ß ejpaggelivaß tw'/ aJgivw/, 14 who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God`s own possession, to the praise of his glory. o& ejstin ajrrabw;n th'ß klhronomivaß hJmw'n, eijß ajpoluvtrwsin th'ß peripoihvsewß, eijß e~painon th'ß dovxhß aujtou'.

                                        we were made a heritage,...

                                       we who had before hoped in Christ:

                                                  in whom you also

                                                                   , having heard the word of the truth

                                               -- in whom,

                                    you were sealed

                                                with the Holy Spirit of promise,
